I haven't updated in awhile. We have had a lot going on! The weekend after we went on our first road trip to Michigan we ended up BACK in Michigan. This time not really by choice. My stepsister called me on Friday night and told me that my dad was in the hospital. We packed up and headed back that night. He went to the ER feeling dizzy I guess and they ended up finding a brain aneurysm. They did a procedure on Monday to get rid of that nasty thing. He is so lucky. Someone was obviously watching over him. Most people aren't as lucky as him and don't realize they have a brain aneurysm until it bursts and they end up all messed up. Like Bret Michaels was!
Our trip there and back was good again, thank goodness. It was nice to go, even though the circumstances were stressful. My stepsisters, sister, and niece were able to meet Peyton. I am so glad that we all get along now and it's not awkward. I always used to feel SO out of place around them but not so much anymore.
Dustin left for California on Thursday and since then it's just been me and the P monster! We have had a good time. Friday we went shopping! P actually slept most of the time which is really unusual. I went to get my man eyebrows waxed and then we went to baby gap! I had a code for $50 worth of stuff for $25! I had a gift card we had received from our friend Jami, when P was born so I used that and got all sorts of stuff. I bought her another adorable bathing suit (pic below). It's 12-18 months but I think it will still fit this summer. Her 6-12 month one fits her now (picture above).

We then went to buy buy baby to buy her a smaller stroller. I really like her travel system and it is so nice to use with her car seat but omg its huge. I can hardly fit anything else in the back of my jeep when its in there! And we were talking about how it would have been nice to have it when we were home but theres no way that we could pack that along with all of our other crap. We went on the search for a small lightweight stroller. My friend
Danielle told me about the city mini. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend that much on a stroller since I already had one though. I got to buy buy baby and started talking to the lady that worked there. I asked her what her favorite stroller was and she said the city mini...of course. I looked at like 100 strollers and finally decided to see what all the hype was about. It was super awesome. It folds down into a tiny little thing and only weighs about 15lbs. And to fold it up you just pull one strap. I fell in love with the stupid thing. So I ended up getting it. It was semi warm (for Illinois anyway) on Friday so we came home and put it together (which was super easy and even I could figure it out!) and went for a walk!

I ended up getting it in the stone color. I liked the all black but I was afraid it would be SO hot in the summer. So Danielle and I are going to look super cool walking our babies in their matching strollers when she comes to visit us this summer. HA HA.
Saturday we were heading over to my aunt and uncle's house for the day. I've been a bad niece and haven't been to visit them since after Christmas. Oops. She had a rough night on Friday and woke up bright and early around 5am. I put her in bed with me and we were just laying there cuddling and she was talking and eating her hand. All of a sudden she stuck her finger too far down her throat and found her gag reflux. She gagged and I just laid there thinking that was it. Nope, a split second later she started projectile vomiting all over me, herself, and the bed. It looked like something out of The Exorcist.
Then of course she laid there smiling and laughing. I had to get up and strip the bed and change her, clean myself up and then we tried to take a little nap. We finally decided to get out of bed at like 9am and head over to uncle Tom's.
My cousin was giving a clinic to a bunch of 4H kids in the barn so I bundled P up and we went out to see the horses. Her face was PRICELESS. The horses were coming up to her and getting right in her face. She reached out for a few of them and I let her touch one although I was scared they were going to eat her. HAHA. Her little face just melts my heart. Her eyes were so huge and she was just so focused on them like what in the world are these things?! I can't wait till she is big enough to ride. Uncle Tom said she will be big enough soon. I think we will wait a little longer. LOL Some of my fondest memories of my childhood (and teen) years were spent at uncle Tom's house riding horses and helping around the barn. I hope that P will be able to have those same memories someday (but not as soon as uncle tom wants haha).
P would NOT nap there yesterday. My poor Aunt Loretta just loves P and loves holding her and loving her and P was such a grump from not napping. She napped for maybe an hour overall and that was not enough. Every time Aunt Loretta would hold her she'd start yelling.

So I am thinking about giving P some oatmeal. I am having mixed feelings about this. I really wanted to wait until she was 6 months old to feed her anything. I feel like that is what is best and what pediatricians and lactation consultants have recommended to us (although her pedi said it was fine at 4 months if we wanted to). But I am desperate for some sleep. That sounds so selfish. But this not sleeping is really starting to affect me. I am worn out. I don't feel like doing anything. I've been having massive headaches almost every day. Whoever said to 'sleep when she sleeps' must have had a maid, a cook, and an assistant. I can't ever nap during the day. I have so many other things to do (like blog!). Who is going to cook, clean, and run errands?! And everyone needs some "ME" time once in awhile to just veg out and watch t.v. or read. Some people say feeding them some cereal at bedtime helps them sleep, some people say it doesn't help. I am almost willing to try it. Dustin wants to do it. He thinks that she is a big girl and could eat food with no problem. I am not so sure yet. I don't want to feed her rice cereal because I feel like it's just a filler and has no real nutritional value. I feel better about giving her oatmeal instead. I guess if I only give her a tiny bit at bedtime it won't be so bad and if it doesn't help her sleep then I'll stop it. I can still wait to give her fruits and veggies until she is 6 months old. I don't know what to do. Today I pulled out her Beaba Babycook and did the initial cleaning runs on it and washed everything after so it is all ready to go. I pulled out some oats to make her oatmeal and it's just sitting here staring at me. Dustin comes home today and we will discuss it and decide what to do. My baby is growing up way too fast...

I think she is SO, SO, SO, pretty!
Here is her Easter outfit. Notice the bunny on her shirt is shaped like a "P"
